Statement of Non-Partisanship
Southeast Community Health Systems is a private, nonprofit organization recognized as exempt from Federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Southeast Community Health Systems’ mission is to provide high-quality, cost-effective, community based comprehensive primary and preventive health care to the residents of East Baton Rouge, Livingston, St. Helena and Tangipahoa parishes without regard to an individual’s or family’s ability to pay for such services. The mission of Southeast Community Health Systems is to provide quality, affordable healthcare to all patients in underserved areas, and to improve the health and wellness of the communities we serve.
Southeast Community Health Systems may take positions on or advocate with regard to public policy issues pertinent to its mission, consistent with the requirements of applicable Federal and state law. However, Southeast Community Health Systems conducts all of its activities in an entirely nonpartisan manner. Southeast Community Health Systems may acknowledge the elected officials who support us, but we do not endorse, support, or oppose candidates for public office, nor do we intervene in any election on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate or political party.

Community Partner Affiliations:
Southeast Community Health Systems is a Community Partner site with the Department of Health, the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and the Health Insurance Marketplace. The following services are provided onsite by our Certified Application Counselors:
- Manual and Electronic application submissions
- Informational material including brochures/pamphlets and referral sources for both the DCFS and Medicaid programs
- Consumer education and assistance with completing and submitting applications through the Marketplace
As a community partner, Southeast provides information and the ability to apply for DCFS programs such as:
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps
- Family Independence Temporary Assistance Program (FITAP)
- Kinship Care Subsidy Program (KCSP)
- Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP)
- Child Support Enforcement (CSE) Program

Our Outreach team members are all Certified Community Health Workers (CHWs) who are dedicated to helping you navigate health and social services in our community. They provide guidance, support, and resources to make accessing care and benefits easier for you and your family

A Community Health Worker is a trusted member of the community who connects individuals and families with resources for health, wellness, and social support. CHWs help people understand their options, complete applications, and access programs that improve quality of life
