Kid-Med (EPSDT)
EPSDT formally known as Kid-Med
is one of Louisiana’s Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) Programs. EPSDT provides preventive health screenings, diagnosis, and treatment services for suspected vision, hearing, dental and medical problems.
Louisiana has been nationally recognized as having one of the top five EPSDT programs in the nation, exceeding goals for EPSDT set by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). EPSDT services are available to Medicaid-eligible children under the age of 21. EPSDT benefits end on the child’s 21st birthday.
