Lara Aguirre is a third-generation nurse. She graduated with her Associate of Nursing in 2009 and Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012. She has held positions as a Registered Nurse in medical-surgery nursing and emergency medicine at Earl K. Long Hospital and emergency medicine and intensive care at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. In 2020, she earned her Doctorate in Nurse Practice with the goal to help the underserved and rural areas of Louisiana. Upon graduation from LSU Health Science Center, Aguirre was awarded the “Reverend Dr. James A Ertl Clinical Excellence” Award. Lara is a proud military wife, mother of two children, and resident of Denham Springs, LA. She has also been a CASA volunteer since 2016, giving a voice to abused and neglected children in the court systems.

Kimberly Brown became a nurse following in the footsteps of an inspirational family member who shares the same drive for taking care of others. Kimberly Brown began her nursing career after graduating with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2011. Over the course of her nursing career, she primarily worked in the areas of telemetry, medical-surgical, and intensive care. In 2018, she graduated from Walden University with a master's degree in nursing and received a certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her career as a medical provider began with Southeast Community Health Systems, where she is now currently a provider in school-based health centers while also providing family care at other clinic sites. She grew up and currently resides with her family in Mississippi. During her spare time, she spends time with family and friends while also attending dance competitions for her daughter.

Stacy Cassel has nearly 30 years of experience. She traces her hygienist roots back to her 20s when she worked part-time in a dental office.
In the years since then, she’s held positions in Baton Rouge, St. Tammany, and St. Helena before landing in Tangipahoa parish.

Cassel received her Bachelor of Dental Hygiene from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1993. Cassel specializes in both adult and pediatric. She has a soft spot for educating elementary students on the importance of good oral health habits and nutrition.

She is a resident of Tangipahoa parish. During her free time, she enjoys being with her family and traveling.

Diana Edens started her journey to become a counselor in 2007. Even from a young age she knew that she wanted to help others and found that helping others navigate negative life events and emotions was the best route to take. Edens graduated from Walden University with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling in 2014.
She has been a part of the Southeast Community Health Systems team as a school-based counselor since 2019. She currently holds a LPC license with the state of Louisiana.
Edens loves spending time with her students while at work and with her own children when she is not. She owns a thrift store and enjoys fixing things from furniture to toys in her spare time.


Kristie Faust, NP

Kristie Faust is a pediatric nurse practitioner and the coordinator of school-based health services for Southeast Community Health Systems. Faust is a graduate of Loranger High School. She also attended Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA where she graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After working for many years as a pediatric nurse, she attended the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL. She graduated in 2011 with a Master of Science in Nursing and a concentration as a pediatric nurse practitioner. In the years since then, Kristie has been employed with Southeast Community Health Systems. She is a certified nurse practitioner through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. Kristie is a lifelong resident of Loranger, LA where she resides with her husband, Jeremiah, and two children, Miah and Noah.

Dr. Gaffney brings nearly 20 years of dental experience to Southeast Community Health Systems. Dr. Gaffney received his undergrad degree from the University of New Orleans before beginning dental school at Louisiana State University.

He worked in private practice around the Greater New Orleans area before joining Southeast. Gaffey is an avid music lover and during his free time, Gaffney loves spending time with his dog "Fred" and his family.


Christopher Givens, NP

Christopher Givens is a Family Nurse Practitioner board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Givens began his career in the medical sciences in 2010 after obtaining his Associate in Applied Science in Medical Radiologic Technology. In 2012, he completed his Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing from Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit, Mississippi.
Givens previously worked as a medical-surgical registered nurse for five years while continuing his education. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from William Carey University in 2015 and his Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2017. His previous experience as a nurse practitioner includes family practice and internal medicine practice in the outpatient and inpatient settings. He currently lives in McComb, Mississippi with his wife—Tera—and his daughter—Kenna.

Dr. Hall was born in Baton Rouge. He attended both Louisiana State University and Southern University. Corey received his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, and completed his residency training in family medicine at the Harrisburg Family Medicine Residency Program in Harrisburg, PA. 
Dr. Hall has been a medical doctor for over 20 years, 17 of those years spent providing high-quality healthcare to communities all over Louisiana. In his spare time, Dr. Hall enjoys listening to many genres of music, playing jazz guitar, fishing, canoeing, hunting, and movies.


Todd Hartsfield, DDS

Dr. Todd Hartsfield provides dental care for the underserved and special needs patients 3 days a week at Southeast Community Health Systems. As a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Hartsfield graduated from Loyola Dental School in New Orleans in 1970. He served two years as a U.S. Army dentist, including a tour in South Vietnam. While in Vietnam, he started a dental training program for Buddhist monks at the Buddhist Center in Qui Nhon. Dr. Hartsfield’s 51-year career has included private practice in rural Louisiana and Canada, public health dentistry and dental education. He spent 20 years in Canada training, supervising, and working alongside dental therapists. As the Dental Director for the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona for 5 years, he trained Tribal members to develop and implement oral health promotion programs. Dr. Hartsfield was an Assistant Professor of Clinical Dentistry at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health (ASDOH), Associate Clinical Director at Dental Care West, a private practice model clinic that is part of ASDOH, and full-time faculty in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program for 9 years. Dr. Hartsfield and his wife Bette’, moved back to Louisiana in December 2015.


Dr. Pamela Hollins, MD

Dr. Pamela Hollins has over 40 years in the healthcare industry. Dr. Hollins served as the first Black female physician in Calcasieu Parish in 1981.
Prior to joining Southeast Community Health Systems, Dr. Hollins worked in urgent care clinics, served as an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine for Louisiana State University Medical Center, staffed the emergency room and ambulatory clinic and two outreach clinics in Baton Rouge. Dr. Hollins also held a staff physician role at a HRSA designated, Home Health-based Rural Health Clinic in Jackson, Louisiana and was employed by the Baton Rouge General Medical Clinic Physician Group. Dr. Hollins opened her own private practice in Baton Rouge from the mid 90s until 2015.
During her free time, Dr. Hollins enjoys spending time with her family, being active in her parish of St. Agnes Catholic Church, reading and traveling.

Melody Jones brings over 12 years of experience to Southeast Community Health Systems. She began her nursing career in Baton Rouge where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010. Jones earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Southern University A&M College in 2017, with a graduate program specialization as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Jones’ focuses on promoting preventative holistic treatment plans for those in underserved communities.
During her free time, Jones enjoys traveling, cooking, and organizing women's empowerment events and spending time with her two boys, Skylar and Jeremiah.

Benjamin Larisey has been a natural advocate, listener, and provider of empathy long before he realized his calling to be a clinical social worker. Like most of us, Benjamin struggled to find a profession that allows him to do what he loves, which for him is to witness and be part of someone's journey toward their own success. In the years since then, he has held positions as a community-based therapist, advocate, school-based therapist, coordinator of behavioral health, and most recently the Director of Behavioral Health at Southeast Community Health Systems. Much of his expertise is in leadership, working with trauma victims, marriage problems, grief, depression, and anxiety, to name a few. He is an Eagle Scout. He and his wife were presented the Red Heart Award by the YMCA for feeding the homeless. He was also granted the Good Citizenship Award from the Sons of the American Revolution. Most recently, he has been part of a national coalition to provide mental health assessments to some of the most vulnerable and traumatized migrants who have sought asylum into the United States. He is a native of Baton Rouge where graduated from Broadmoor High School and then Louisiana State University for both undergraduate and graduate school. He then attended Louisiana State University in Shreveport where he received a second masters degree in health care administration. He now lives in Central, Louisiana with his wife and five beautifully active children. He enjoys woodworking and hopes to witness more success and happiness from the people for whom he leads, counsels, and builds.

Rosemarie Lazo began her nursing career after graduating from San Jacinto Community College as a licensed vocational nurse in 2001. In 2003 she received her Associate Degree in Nursing. In 2006 she completed her Master in Nursing from Prairie View A & M University. She then obtained her Master in Science from Loyola University of New Orleans in 2019.
Before joining Southeast Community Health Systems, Lazo worked as a recovery nurse, and also spent time in both medical-surgical and trauma intensive care units. Lazo began her nurse practitioner role with Southeast Community Health Systems and currently provides family care at our Independence location. As a native of the Philippines, Rosemarie migrated to the US when she was 17 years old. She lived in Houston, Texas for 20 years before moving to Hammond, LA in 2015 where she currently resides with her husband and 6 years old daughter.

Dr. Radhiya Kibibi Lewis works as a Nurse Practitioner at Southeast Community Health Systems’ Bluebonnet location. Dr. Lewis brings over 16 years of nurse practitioner experience to Southeast. Prior to that, she worked as a registered nurse for over 20 years.
Dr. Lewis earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2001, Master of Science in Nursing in 2005 and Doctorate of Nursing Practice in 2016 from Southern University A&M College. She is passionate about Women’s Health where she has spent the majority of her career. She is a strong advocate for the healthcare needs of women and is fulfilled by empowering women with knowledge necessary to live healthy lifestyles.
Dr. Lewis is an active member of American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Louisiana State Nurses Association, and Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is currently a member of the Healthcare First Medical Clinic Advisory Committee and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
She enjoys serving in a community where she was born and raised. Her patients help to fulfill her passion for caring for others. During her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband, and two children.

Lyssa Morris brings nearly a decade of nursing expertise to Southeast Community Health Systems. As a family nurse practitioner, she works closely with the underserved communities of rural southeast Louisiana. Though she sees a wide array of patients, Morris is particularly interested in Women’s Health.
Prior to joining Southeast Community Health Systems, she held various nursing roles. Her expertise in nursing allowed for her to work as a critical care nurse and primary care nurse. Morris earned an Associates in Science of Nursing and Master's in Science of Nursing with a concentration of Family Nurse Practitioner. She is an alum of Delgado Community College-Charity School of Nursing, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Herzing University.
During her free time Morris likes to spend time with her family. She lives in Ascension Parish with her husband and child.

Heather Muse is a Nurse Practitioner at Southeast Community Health Systems. She attended Southeastern Louisiana University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2008. Dr. Muse worked as an RN in various areas across the nursing field. While working in the operating room, she pursued and completed a second degree from Southeastern Louisiana University, graduating in 2014 with a Master of Science in Nursing. Upon graduation, Dr. Muse began her tenure at Southeast Community Health Systems as a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She works as a primary care provider, caring for individuals of all ages across the lifespan, while collaborating with the patient and other healthcare professionals to provide complete and quality care. Dr. Muse returned to Southeastern Louisiana University and obtained her third degree, a Doctor of Nursing Practice, in 2021. She strives to exhibit leadership within the community as well as the healthcare system, and continually works to ensure that all patients have access to quality healthcare. Dr. Muse is an active member of several professional organizations including The American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing. Dr. Muse and her husband reside in Denham Springs with their three children. She enjoys reading Danielle Steel novels and going to the beach every summer with her family.

Dr. JoAn Fisher-Ranel is a General Dentist and has been a member of the Southeast Community Health Systems Dental team since 2017 where she served as a staff general dentist as well as the Interim Dental Director for a year and a half.Dr. Fisher-Ranel obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Louisiana State University in 1990. After visiting LSU School of Dentistry as an undergraduate, her passion and desire to pursue a career in dentistry developed and has magnified over the years. In 1995, she graduated from LSU School of Dentistry and returned to Baton Rouge to practice dentistry with zeal, compassion and integrity. Dr. Fisher-Ranel has practiced dentistry in the private sector for nearly 27 years in Baker. Her desire is to serve the patients who have been entrusted to her care with dignity, compassion, and excellence. She and her husband reside in Zachary, LA. She is the mother of 2 young adult children who are current students at LSU in Baton Rouge and University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa Alabama. In her spare time, Dr. Ranel volunteers with several service organizations as well as her church in various outreach efforts.

Cynthia Sears brings 27 Years of expertise to Southeast Community Health Systems.
At Southeast Community Health Systems Sears works closely with the St. Helena Parish Schools to provide comprehensive behavioral health services to students, and their family members. Prior to joining Southeast Community Health Systems, she held positions as a teacher and school counselor within Tangipahoa Parish School System. Many of the years spent in Tangipahoa Parish School System included working with alternative youth programs. In addition, Sears provided outpatient counseling services in a private practice setting.
She resides in Hammond and during her free time she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.

Tammy M. Smith brings 19 years of experience to Southeast Community Health Systems.
As a Sowith the staff at the Greensburg Clinic site to provide quality care to all of those within the community. Prior to joining Southeast Community Health Systems, she spent a year as the Chronic Diseases Coordinator at the Angola State Penitentiary. In the past she has participated in various medical mission trips.
She currently lives in Greenwell Springs with her two children as well as her dog Moose, rescue German Shepherd Sammy, and a ferret named Donut.

Dr. Denise Thomas has over 30 years in the healthcare industry. She joined Southeast Community Health Systems in 2019 as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
Prior to joining Southeast, Dr. Thomas began her career in the Navy as a medic and transitioned shortly thereafter into the public sector where she held various nursing roles. Her experience has taken her all over the United States where she’s worked in Texas, Virginia, California and New York State before finding her way to Louisiana.
Dr. Thomas has experience in intensive care units, emergency rooms, medical/surgical, dialysis and acute psychiatric.
She received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama and her undergraduate at the State University of New York.
During her freetime, Dr. Thomas enjoys cycling, playing the violin, and spending time with her family, friends and animals.

Dr. Marvin Trotter is a podiatrist devoted to treatment and disorders of the foot, ankle and leg. These treatments, either medical or surgical, are performed outpatient in the office.
Dr. Trotter received his Doctorate of Podiatry in 1985 and has over 35 years of podiatry experience. Prior to joining Southeast Community Health Systems, he held several positions in Indiana and East Baton Rouge Parish and has many accolades and awards in the profession. He attended Tougaloo College in Mississippi and graduated from Ohio College of Pediatric Medicine with a degree in Medicine and Surgery.
During his free time, Dr. Trotter likes to spend time with his family, travel and fish. He’s a resident of Prairieville.

Demeka Underwood brings 10 years of experience to Southeast Community Health Systems. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Demeka works closely with patients to provide medication management and Psychotherapy for mental health issues.
She received her Master’s in Science at the University of Southern Mississippi in 2020, Bachelor’s in Nursing at Franciscan Of Our Lady in 2019 and Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Our Lady Of The Lake College in 2012.
Prior to joining Southeast Community Health Systems, Demeka was a nurse in diverse settings including Medical Surgical, Mother/Baby, Pediatric Nurse Manager, School Nurse Manager, Community Psychiatric Nurse and volunteered with Council on Aging where she administered COVID-19 Vaccines. Her philosophy of nursing is to provide care for patients in the community as if they are her own family. She serves with empathy and a smile. She believes this philosophy results in the best patient outcomes.
During her free time, Demeka loves to read and travel with family. She lives in Geismar, Louisiana, is married and has 7 children, 5 grandchildren and 2 dogs .

Kizzy S. Woods has over 15 years in the health industry. Much of her time has involved pediatrics, adult care and geriatrics. Prior to joining Southeast Community Health Systems she held roles in hospital medicine, emergency medicine and labor and delivery.
Kizzy received her Associate of Nursing degree from Hinds Community College in 2008. She received her bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Mississippi in 2014 and then went on to receive her Master of Science in Nursing in 2016 from South University.
Kizzy is a resident of McComb, Mississippi. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, gardening, upcycling, traveling, and spending time with loved ones.

Dr. Jeevan Yenuganti is a native of Hyderabad, India and a resident of the New Orleans area for almost 20 years. His dental degree is from a prestigious dental school- Bapuji Dental College and Hospital in Davangere, India. He also has a Master of Science in Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. He has dual residencies in Oral Medicine and GPR and Conscious Sedation Certificate from LSU School of Dentistry, New Orleans, Louisiana. For the past 15 plus years Dr. Jeevan has been passionate about providing high quality dental services to all patients especially those of underserved populations.
Dr. Jeevan’s professional experience includes Dental Director for Community Health Centers in Louisiana currently serving Southeast Community Health Systems, Hammond, Louisiana. Jeevan's extensive career began at LSU School of Dentistry as an Assistant Professor of Oral Medicine and Hospital Dentistry where he was involved in various course directorships of undergraduate and postgraduate students/residents at LSUHSC School of Dentistry for almost a decade. Within that time at LSU, he also served as the Dental Director for Infectious Disease Clinic serving HIV-AIDS patients for many years. His professional interests and research includes evidence based dental practice/oral medicine for medically complex and HIV/AIDS patients. In his free time Dr. Jeevan enjoys relaxing at home with his son and his pets. He is also a performance car enthusiast for all his life, his hobbies include playing cricket, working on DIY home/car projects etc.
