Who Is Eligible for WIC

You may be eligible for WIC if you:

  • Are pregnant or postpartum
  • Are a caregiver of an infant or child under 5 years old
  • Live in Louisiana
  • Meet household income guidelines

Individuals enrolled in Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF automatically meet income eligibility requirements. Foster children also automatically qualify.

What to Bring to Your WIC Appointment

All individuals applying for WIC must be present at the appointment.

For infants and children, please bring one clean, dry diaper for weighing.

A general overview of required items includes:

  • Proof of Louisiana residency
  • Proof of income
