Dr. Denise Thomas has over 30 years in the healthcare industry. She joined Southeast Community Health Systems in 2019 as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. 

Prior to joining Southeast, Dr. Thomas began her career in the Navy as a medic and transitioned shortly thereafter into the public sector where she held various nursing roles. Her experience has taken her all over the United States where she’s worked in Texas, Virginia, California, and New York State before finding her way to Louisiana. 

Dr. Thomas has experience in intensive care units, emergency rooms, medical/surgical, dialysis, and acute psychiatric.
She received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama and her undergraduate at the State University of New York.
During her free time, Dr. Thomas enjoys cycling, playing the violin, and spending time with her family, friends, and animals.
