Dermatology at Southeast Community Health Systems

Beginning July 6, 2026, Southeast Community Health Systems is proud to offer dermatology services to our patients. Healthy skin is part of whole-person health — and now you can see a dermatology provider without leaving your community.

Dermatology visits are available to all SCHS patients. In-person appointments are held at our Kentwood clinic, and telehealth visits are available from home or from any SCHS location. If getting to Kentwood is a challenge, we can help arrange transportation.

Affordable Care for Everyone

As a Federally Qualified Health Center, SCHS makes specialty care affordable:

  • Sliding fee scale. Our sliding fee discount program applies to dermatology services. The amount you pay is based on your household income and family size — and no one is turned away for inability to pay.
  • Insurance accepted. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, and most commercial insurance plans.
  • No insurance? No problem. Our team will help you apply for the sliding fee scale and connect you with coverage options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be a current SCHS patient to schedule a dermatology visit?

New patients are welcome — complete our patient registration packet and our team will help you get scheduled.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed to schedule an appointment. We do accept referrals from providers.

How does a telehealth dermatology visit work?

You will receive a secure video link before your appointment. During the visit, the provider may ask you to show the area of concern on camera or to submit photos in advance through the patient portal. If the provider determines you need an in-person exam or procedure, we will schedule you at our Kentwood clinic — with transportation assistance if you need it.

What will my visit cost?

Costs depend on your insurance and, if you are uninsured or underinsured, your sliding fee scale discount. Call our billing team with questions — we will never let cost stand between you and care.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Bring a photo ID, your insurance card (if you have one), a list of current medications, and any records about previous skin treatments if available.
