Back to School: Get Ahead with School-Based Health Services

Back to School Starts with a Healthy Start
As the new school year approaches, now is the perfect time for parents and guardians to ensure their children are ready to return to the classroom healthy, focused, and supported. Southeast Community Health Systems operates School-Based Health Centers in several parishes, including East Baton Rouge, Livingston, St. Helena, and Tangipahoa, to make care more convenient and accessible for students.
School-Based Health Centers Provide:
- Annual wellness exams
- Vision screenings
- Behavioral health services
- Immunizations and routine care at select locations
Our vision screening tool is available during students’ annual wellness appointments and can help identify early signs of vision issues that may affect classroom performance.
Consent Required for Services
To receive services at one of our School-Based Health Centers, students must have a completed and signed consent form on file. We encourage parents to download, fill out, and return the appropriate consent form before the school year begins to avoid any delay in services.
